We decided to give Canvas a face lift. We contacted our folks at Factor 1 Studios and they did the thing we wanted. After a little time, our new look was up and running. Go to the site and navigate that bad boy!
Perry Noble is a great leader. He post his thoughts on some leadership things recently. I encourage everyone, especially anyone in leadership, to check this out. Take just a few minutes, it’s worth a read.
“18Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” -Hebrews 2
What better advice than seek it from those who have experience. Jesus was a great example. He struggled with temptation, that’s why he doesn’t just blow steam, he actually knows what he is talking about.
If you find yourself struggling with with something, find someone who has struggled and overcome; someone who will kick your butt. Accountability.
One thing I’ve been wanting to do is begin incorporating drum loops in to worship. Will most people notice? Probably not. Will it ‘change lives’? Probably not. Will it enhance what we’re already doing? YES!
The great thing is it cost just about zero dollars, only wee bits of man hours. I have little to no experience with loops though. I’ve been researching, reading, conversing, and expanding my knowledge on this subject. I am so thankful I have a team that shares my passion and enthusiasm. They also are better at this than me. Not only that, they’re smarter than me too.
Seriously…
Canvas Church, coming soon to a theater near you… (literally) drum loops by the worship team headed up by the great @richarddurbin. Along with members @louisHR & channelwun aka Will. (Mitch, I miss you).
All seriousness, I love these guys. They bring some amazing worship each week. They are THE best worship team in Savannah. I’ll bet that any day!
Anyway, just fun insight to look forward to…
3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. -Titus 3
Titus has been rocking my world! These verses are such a good reminder, that I often take for granted. It’s by the mercy of God we are saved, not by things we do.
Dang, how good it is to know that.
